Rusthall and Langton Green from Tunbridge Wells

Rusthall is a mile and a half west of Tunbridge Wells along the A264; Langton Green is a mile further on. Five to ten minutes.

Rusthall starts where the Langton Road leaves Tunbridge Wells and runs along the top of Rusthall Common, with Toad Rock and the church and a village high street of its own, and rows of houses off Rusthall Road and the roads down to the Common where nearly everyone has a drive or a spot at the front. Langton Green is the next village along the A264, gathered around its green with the pub and the school on it, larger houses on bigger plots off Speldhurst Road and Stockland Green Road, and beyond it the lanes fall away towards Groombridge and the Sussex border. It is a comfortable part of the world and the cars in it tend to be looked after, which is why the work here leans towards servicing to the maker's schedule, brake pads and discs before they are a problem, and warning lights on cars that have not put a foot wrong before. Driveways are generous and mostly level, which suits a job on stands, and gravel is fine as long as the car can be lifted on a firm patch; Andy carries boards for the stands where a drive is loose. Speldhurst sits just north and Groombridge just south-west, both on Andy's own list, and jobs across the three get grouped so that a morning in Langton Green and an afternoon in Speldhurst is an ordinary day. One practical note: the lanes west of Langton Green are narrow enough that a broken-down car on a bend is a hazard, so if that is where you are, say so on the phone and he comes to that first.

Great service, will now be my go to!

Second time using Andrew, got a new car and the dealer sold it to us with dodgy break discs and pads. Within a few hours of messaging Andrew was here repairing what was needed as he had some free time come up. Advised of what he felt needed other work too so will be booking back in for this on arrival of parts. He also ensured he had plenty of photos which was extremely helpful now we are in dispute with the dealer. He will be our go to for when we need stuff doing, fair prices and great service

Questions from Rusthall and Langton Green

Can you work on a gravel drive?

Yes. Andy carries boards so the stands sit on something firm. A level patch is what matters, not the surface.

Do you cover Speldhurst and Groombridge as well?

Both are on Andy's own list of places and both are inside the ring. Jobs across Rusthall, Langton Green, Speldhurst and Groombridge get grouped into one day where they can be.

I am in Langton Green and the car will not start. What do I do?

Ring 07399 584225 and say what it does when you turn the key. A lot of non-starts are a battery, fitted where the car stands.
