Three miles east of Tunbridge Wells on the Pembury Road, ten minutes in normal traffic.

Pembury is the east side of the ring, out along the Pembury Road from Tunbridge Wells and up to the A21 at Woodsgate Corner. The village proper gathers around the Green and the High Street, with older cottages and newer estates running off Hastings Road, Henwood Green Road and Lower Green Road, and nearly all of it has somewhere to park a car off the road, which makes it good mobile-mechanic country: a level drive, the keys, and the job is done while you are indoors. The other half of Pembury's motoring life is the hospital. Tunbridge Wells Hospital brings thousands of staff in every day on shifts that do not leave room for a garage visit, and a car that needs brakes or a service or has a warning light on can be done in the staff car park during a shift, given a level bay and the car park's permission, so that it is sorted by the time the shift ends. Andy asks for that permission rather than assuming it; it has always been given so far, but a hospital car park is a busy place and he works where he is told he can. Beyond the hospital the ring runs out towards the A21 and Kipping's Cross, and jobs out there in the lanes are fine as long as there is a flat spot to get the car on stands, which most farm drives and pub car parks have and most grass verges do not.

The Green, the High Street, the estates off Hastings Road and Henwood Green Road. Driveways and hard standings nearly everywhere, so the whole services list applies.
